CubbySort privacy policy
Last updated: October 23, 2026
CubbySort is a photo organizer for Android by FightTech VN. It comes in two editions on Google Play:
- CubbySort (free edition, package `app.web.cubbysort`): free, shows ads from Google AdMob, with an optional one-time Pro purchase that removes every ad.
- CubbySort Pro (paid edition, package `app.web.cubbysortpro`): paid up front, no ads, no in-app purchases, no internet permission.
This policy explains what each edition does with your data. The source of this page is the app's own policy file (`fastlane/metadata/privacy_policy.md`); both say the same.
In short
- Your photos and videos are read on your phone only. They are never uploaded, copied to a server or shown to anyone.
- CubbySort has no account, no analytics and no crash reporting.
- CubbySort Pro (paid edition) has no internet permission at all and shows no ads.
- CubbySort (free edition) shows ads from Google AdMob. Ads never receive your photos, albums or file names. Buying Pro removes every ad.
What the app reads and why
- Your photos and videos (via Android's media library): to show what is not in an album yet, to move items into album folders, to put items in the trash, and to compare similar photos. They are processed on the phone and never transmitted.
- File details (name, folder, size, dates, resolution) and small "fingerprints" of photos (for similar-photo grouping): to keep your Unsorted list, your decisions, undo, statistics and similar groups. They stay in a private database on the phone (backed up only by Android's own backup, if you use it).
- Your albums list, decisions, settings and statistics: the app's function. They stay in the same private database.
- Photo location data inside the file (EXIF): kept intact when a photo is copied to an SD card; CubbySort never reads or shows your location. It stays in the file, on your phone.
- Purchase receipt (free edition, only if you buy Pro): to unlock Pro on this phone, also offline. It stays on the phone; the payment itself is handled by Google Play.
Permissions
- Photos and videos (Android 13+), or storage (older versions): to read and organize your library. On Android 14+ you can share only selected photos.
- Media management (optional, Android 12+): lets moves and deletions run without Android's confirmation dialog, always after you tap Apply or Empty trash.
- Photo locations (asked only before copying to an SD card): so copies keep the photo's own location data.
- Notifications (optional): your daily or monthly reminder. Run at startup: to keep that reminder after a restart.
- Free edition only: Google Play billing (the one-time Pro purchase), internet, network state and advertising ID (for ads).
Ads (free edition only)
The free edition uses Google AdMob (Google LLC) to show ads. Google may collect and use your advertising ID, approximate location (from your IP address), device and app information and ad interactions to show and measure ads, and diagnostics about the ads SDK. In the European Economic Area, the UK, Switzerland and US states with privacy laws, CubbySort asks for your consent with Google's consent form (UMP) before any ad is requested; you can change your choice any time in Settings › Ad privacy choices. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in Android's settings. Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. How Google uses data from partner apps: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
CubbySort itself sends nothing to us or to anyone. Ads are shown to people 13 and older and are limited to family-friendly content.
CubbySort Pro (paid edition)
CubbySort Pro has no internet permission: it cannot connect to the internet. It contains no advertising, no in-app purchases and no third-party advertising or analytics SDK. Nothing leaves your phone.
Deleting your data
- Settings › Privacy and data › Delete app data removes CubbySort's database and settings. It never deletes your photos, videos or folders.
- Uninstalling the app removes all of its data. Your albums are real folders and stay on your phone.
- Ad data held by Google can be managed in your Google account and in Android's advertising settings.
Children
CubbySort is not directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is posted on this page with a new date.
